Competency, efficiency and capability are three things vitally important to a person seeking representation in a legal case. Ms Nik Nur Adilla from Adilla Sauki & Co fitted the bill when she was hired to take over a case in which a Myanmar national had been detained in Kelantan for having no proper travel documents.
The detainee was working for us, an Aircon contractor, when he was detained on 19 December 2023 while travelling with two others, both Malaysians.
The case came up for hearing at the Pasir Mas Magistrate's court no less than six times since and had to be postponed each time as the defence lawyer, based in Kuala Lumpur, could not be present.
We had no choice but to officially change lawyers and got Adilla to take over. This was in May.
And within one month, she got it all settled. The case went on and she got the Myanmar accused freed after 6 months in the lockup. The accused had a UNHCR certificate which, at the time of his arrest, was lost.
The bail money was all returned. And we as the contractor concerned are very happy with Adilla & Sauki. Cheers and well done.
