We didn’t expect much because the receptionist told us they don’t take cases relating to landlord-tenant issues. But the lawyers Siet and Shahran went above and beyond just giving advice, they even offered to help with calling my landlord there in their office and recorded the call for me, also offered to draft a statement for police report.
Thank you very much for your help, it is much appreciated. There are tenancy laws in Malaysia but sadly no one enforces these laws, bad landlords can just get away with mistreating tenants. I’m sure there are many others in similar or worse situations, hopefully someday Malaysian bar or some other organisation will set up a centre to help tenants who struggle with difficult, irresponsible landlords.
